Overdose and Grieving: How the HALO Initiatives and the NQCC Can Help
Please join us on Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM to learn more about available resources to support those who have lost a loved one to overdose. You can register for this free event here.
Healing After Loss to Overdose (HALO) Initiatives is a community-focused philanthropic program dedicated to supporting individuals who have lost a loved one to opioid overdose. Through HALO Initiatives, surviving family members receive support and financial assistance to address both immediate needs and long-term challenges related to health, healing, and community connection. By providing direct financial support, HALO aims to mitigate the intergenerational trauma that impacts families after an overdose death. A recent recipient of a RIZE Massachusetts grant, the HALO Initiatives is interested in expanding its efforts statewide.
The North Quabbin Community Coalition also offers support and grief resources for residents of the North Quabbin Region. They will be able to share what they have done to support loved ones who need both practical and emotional support when someone has died from an overdose.
This is part of the Opioid Task Force 2026 Education and Learning Series. For more information, please email us at info@opioidtaskforce.org.
