Transforming Massachusetts Opioid Settlement Funds into Community Impact

April 16 @ 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Please join us for a virtual information session tomorrow afternoon, Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM entitled “Transforming Massachusetts Opioid Settlement Funds into Community Impact”, to learn about the Massachusetts municipal opioid settlement funding, its structure, and how it is made available to cities and towns. You can register for this free event here.

Mosaic Municipal Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) offers direct support to help municipalities navigate the many decisions involved in allocating these resources effectively. This session will provide a brief overview of how municipalities can access TTA to maximize the impact of their opioid settlement funds to support opioid-related initiatives.

Participants will also hear from the Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), which will discuss the launch of the new Statewide Opioid Settlement Funds Dashboard and host a virtual walkthrough of the data and dashboard features.

Representatives from the City of Greenfield’s Opioid Use and Prevention Commission will discuss their process to expand prevention, treatment, harm reduction, and recovery supports in the largest municipality in Franklin County and the North Quabbin Region.

Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, learn practical tips to maximize the impact of municipal settlement funds, and explore ways to collaborate with state and local partners to enhance settlement investments.

Featured speakers are:

  • Liz Whynott, Senior Program Officer, RIZE Massachusetts
  • Casey León, Epidemiologist, Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS), MA Department of Public Health
  • Sarah Ahern, Chair, Greenfield Opioid Use & Prevention Commission, City of Greenfield
  • Abbi Godfrey, Program Director, The RECOVER Project and Member, Greenfield Opioid Use & Prevention Commission, City of Greenfield.
