SUMMARY:The Good Samaritan Law: How It Works and Why It's Important
DESCRIPTION:Please join us on Wednesday\, October 30\, 2024\, at 1 PM as we learn more about “The Good Samaritan Law: How It Works and Why It’s Important” with Becky Michaels\, Assistant District Attorney and Director of Community Prosecution Projects with the Northwestern District Attorney David E. Sullivan’s Office. \nOne can register for this free event here: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZUlcuuupz0pGdBsquWDguJfANJeATo8tmiM \nThere can be considerable confusion about the intent of the Good Samaritan Law\, which was designed to shield individuals from liability if they make a mistake when helping someone in need. Using the Good Samaritan Law is especially important when responding to overdose in a variety of settings. This session will help broaden our understanding of its aims. \nThis is part of the 2024-2025 CONNECT Education and Training Series. \nCONNECT is a post-opioid overdose community outreach and follow-up initiative that launched on July 1\, 2021. It is an interdisciplinary project overseen by the Opioid Task Force of Franklin County and the North Quabbin Region. \nCollaborative partners include: \n\n30 municipal police\, fire\, and EMS departments of Franklin County and the North Quabbin Region\nChildren’s Advocacy Center of Franklin County and the North Quabbin Region\, Inc.\nCommunity Health Center of Franklin County\nKelley Research Associates\nNorth Quabbin Community Coalition\nNorth Quabbin Recovery Center\nTapestry\nThe RECOVER Project Questions?\n\nPlease contact Nicole St. Hilaire\, CONNECT’s Outreach Manager\, at nicole@opioidtaskforce.org.
