SUMMARY:GiftDrive: A Free Platform Connecting Nonprofits to Donors and In-Kind Donations
DESCRIPTION:We hope you will join us on Thursday\, March 19\, 2026\, at 2:30 PM for a one-hour virtual session to learn more about GiftDrive\, a free\, user-friendly platform that helps nonprofits connect with donors and gather in-kind donations. You can register for this free event here. \nGiftDrive was born out of a University of Vermont classroom in the fall of 2024 when three students\, Logan Vaughan (UVM ’27)\, Miro Gohacki (UVM ’25)\, and Corinne Atwell (UVM ’27)\, saw how challenging it was for local organizations to manage in-kind donation drives and wishlists. \nAfter interviewing dozens of Vermont nonprofits\, the team learned that most struggle to track donations\, collect donor info\, send tax receipts\, and communicate needs effectively. Many local nonprofits and other volunteer organizations still rely on spreadsheets\, email chains\, or paper lists to organize drives\, leaving donors guessing what’s actually needed and how to give\, and nonprofit staff or volunteers buried in logistics. As federal and state budget cuts make it more challenging for rural nonprofits and volunteer entities to carry out their work\, efforts like GiftDrive strive to make it easier for busy community leaders to raise funds or solicit in-kind donations to fulfill their missions. \nSession participants will learn from Logan Vaughan\, one of the GiftDrive developers\, how GiftDrive works\, see a visual demonstration\, and\, if desired\, receive tools to set up their own free GiftDrive account. For more information about GiftDrive\, visit their website here\, https://www.giftdrive.org/. \nQuestions? Feel free to email info@opioidtaskforce.org. This is part of the Opioid Task Force’s 2026 Education and Training Series. \nHelp us spread the word! A flyer is available here and attached as a PDF and an image.

SUMMARY:Overdose and Grieving: How the HALO Initiatives and the NQCC Can Help
DESCRIPTION:Please join us on Thursday\, June 25\, 2026\, from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM to learn more about available resources to support those who have lost a loved one to overdose. You can register for this free event here. \nHealing After Loss to Overdose (HALO) Initiatives is a community-focused philanthropic program dedicated to supporting individuals who have lost a loved one to opioid overdose. Through HALO Initiatives\, surviving family members receive support and financial assistance to address both immediate needs and long-term challenges related to health\, healing\, and community connection. By providing direct financial support\, HALO aims to mitigate the intergenerational trauma that impacts families after an overdose death. A recent recipient of a RIZE Massachusetts grant\, the HALO Initiatives is interested in expanding its efforts statewide. \nThe North Quabbin Community Coalition also offers support and grief resources for residents of the North Quabbin Region. They will be able to share what they have done to support loved ones who need both practical and emotional support when someone has died from an overdose. \nThis is part of the Opioid Task Force 2026 Education and Learning Series.
