Hidden in Plain Sight: Understanding Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) in Our Rural Community

April 22 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

In recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month, please join us for an informative and impactful presentation on Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) by Jessica Loebel, Family Advocate and CSEC Case Coordinator at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Franklin County and North Quabbin, today, Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 2 PM to 3 PM. You can register for this free virtual event here.

This session will provide a comprehensive overview of what CSEC is and how it looks in our rural community, including online risks, such as generative AI. We will also discuss how Massachusetts laws define and protect children from sexual exploitation. Participants will learn to identify common risk factors and red flags, what resources are available, and better understand how our local systems collaborate to support affected youth.

The presentation will include the role of the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF) and how coordinated efforts through a multidisciplinary team model help ensure safety, intervention, and long-term support for vulnerable children and families.

This session strengthens our communities and supports youth in our region through prevention and awareness. It’s for anyone who works with or cares about the health and safety of young people in our region.

This is part of the 2026 CONNECT Education & Training Series. For more information, please contact Nicole St. Hilaire, Outreach Manager for CONNECT at nicole@opioidtaskforce.org.
